New Officer Sworn Into The Marion Police Department

The Marion Police Department welcomed in a new officer yesterday, Officer Todd Bartson was sworn in by Mayor Scott Schertzer as the newest member of the Marion Police Department. 

Following the ceremony, he was presented with his badge by Chief Bill Collins while surrounded by the Bartson family and Marion Police Department staff. Bartson is a 2011 Graduate of Mohawk High School, a 2015 graduate of Heidelberg University with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a 2016 graduate of Terra State Community College where he obtained his Ohio Peace Officer Certification. 

Bartson will go through several months of training with the Marion Police Department before hitting the streets on his own.
