The MARMET/METRICH Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Marion City Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan arrested two major drug dealers.
The investigation was concluded this past weekend with the arrest of Shiloh Jackson and Sylvester Jones. Both men were arrested for trafficking in drugs.
On 03-10-18, Jackson was arrested in the 200 block of E. Mark Street for trafficking in heroin (F-1) and on his person was $2200 in cash. Jackson was taken to the Multi County Jail where formal charges were filed on him by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office on 03-12-18. On 03-10-18, MARMET and the Marion City Police Deaprtment tried to arrest Jones. A traffic stop was conducted and Jones fled in a vehicle through the streets on the west side of Marion. The vehicle pursuit continued west on St Rt 309 towards Big Island at a high rate of speed. Marion County Sheriff’s Office, The Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office assisted but Jones was able to elude authorties due to the excessive speeds. Jones is out on an O.R. bond for felony domestic violence.
On 03-11-18, Jones was arrested in Columbus, Ohio with the assistance of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, U.S. Marshalls, and Columbus SWAT near a Columbus hotel. He was taken to the Frankin County Jail on a warrant that was issued out this case. He is awaiting extradition back to Marion County. The vehicle he was driving at the time of the pursuit was recovered by the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office abandoned in Harpster, Ohio.
