A Marion City Schools A.L.I.C.E. Meeting for Parents and Guardians

Marion City Schools and the Marion Police Department are inviting parents and guardians to attend one of two meetings about the Marion City Schools' Emergency Operations Plan scheduled at the Marion County Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Thursday at noon and 6 p.m.  This is an opportunity for parents and guardians to attend the meeting to learn more and ask questions.  Marion City Schools' Emergency Operations Plan includes using what's referred to as A.L.I.C.E., which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate.  A.L.I.C.E. is how they would handle an event like an armed intruder in a building. Police and school officials will explain how they prepare for such an event and what steps they would take.
