Around 1 pm yesterday, it was reported by some students to Assistant Principal, Brooke Bowlin at Mohawk Jr. and Senior High School, that a student had a handgun in his locker in a book bag. An onsite Parole Officer accompanied Ms. Bowlin to the locker where they secured a 9mm handgun. The student was then detained. The school went on a level one lock down, there was no immediate threat to staff or students and there was not an active shooter situation. The Sheriff’s Department interviewed the student and conducted their investigation.
