John L. Pearce, age 88, of Mount Gilead, passed away Thursday morning, January 11, 2018, at Grant Medical Center.
He was born on July 11, 1929, in Galion, OH, to the late Malvern and Stella (Bowers) Pearce. John graduated from Tiro High School in the class of 1947.
John served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
On New Year’s Eve, of 1961, John married his love: Sally “Ruth Elaine” Ackerman in Johnsville, OH.
John dedicated his life to working hard on the family dairy farm. He also worked at Mt. Gilead Landmark in the feed mill.
He will be missed by his children: David L. (Kindra) Pearce of Mount Gilead, Brian L. (Angie) Pearce of Iberia, and Lisa (Bob) Bell of Brunswick, GA.; grandchildren: Cassey Pearce, Evan Pearce, Alyssa Pearce, Connor Bell, and Chase Bell; sister, Shirley Wilson; brother, Malvern Pearce; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Sally; his parents; brother, Charles Pearce; sisters: Effie Love, June Hunter, Patricia Andrews and Rosemary McAlinney.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 2:30 PM, in Northfork Cemetery with Clint Zeigler officiating.
