Forty-one-year-old Michael C. Brown, of Marion, has been sentenced to life in prison for raping a girl. Brown was scheduled to go to trial this week before he entered a guilty plea of one count of rape, on Monday. Brown was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 10 years. In May of this year, Brown was arrested after he was accused of raping a 12-year-old girl at a house on Scranton Avenue in Marion.Brown was charged with three counts of rape, all first-degree felonies, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, both third-degree felonies, all but one of the rape charges were dropped as part of Monday's plea bargain.
