A popular natural attraction in Marion will soon be demolished. The 22 foot cliff at Quarry Park called “Graffiti Hill” will be razed after Shavon Reid, of Columbus, drowned when he jumped off the cliff into the quarry on May 20th.
The demolition will be done by Helms Sons and Excavating in connection with a sewer project on George Street for which the company won a contract.
The Quarry Park South Lake Area and the entrance from West Fairground Street are temporarily closed during the demolition. The closure is expected for several months.
