Gas prices in the Marion area are down this week. The average cost of a gallon of regular gas fell from $2.24 to $2.15. Fuel prices have been unseasonably low most of the summer. Gas prices jumped 16 cents in Ohio, after the July 4th holiday, it was one of the largest single-week increases in the nation. A gallon of gas is still higher than a month ago when we were paying 2 dollars fourteen cents a gallon. A year ago drivers were paying two dollars 19 cents a gallon.
