State Patrol will be in Full Force for Holiday Weekend

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be out in full force cracking down on impaired drivers the entire Fourth of July weekend, which begins Friday, June 30 and ends Tuesday, July 4. Their zero-tolerance policy is part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign aimed at removing impaired drivers from the roadways.  During last year’s Fourth of July reporting period from July 1 to July 4, a total of 12 fatal crashes killed 13 people. This includes seven OVI-related fatal crashes that killed eight people. The Patrol recorded 680 OVI arrests during the reporting period.
