Not taking a summer vacation? Neither are a lot of others.

According to an Associated Press NORC survey there are 43% of Americans who will not take a summer vacation this year. The top reason for not taking a vacation-the cost. Another 11% said they can't take time off work, and 3% said they don't like to be away from work. Most workers use at least some of their paid time off if they have the option, but many still leave vacation time on the table. 14% of workers who get paid vacation time did not use any of the days they had coming to them. Only 25% of those workers with paid vacation time use it all. I guess I am lucky-I get 4 weeks paid vacation and the last couple of years have used about 18 or 19 days. Even though I don't need that much time it does you good to get away. I feel for those individuals who feel they can't get away from work-I think everybody needs at least a week away to recharge the batteries.
