Now through June 4, officers from the Marion Police Department will participate in the National Click it or Ticket campaign in an effort to save lives through increased seat belt use. Marion Police will be placing special emphasis on those drivers who are not wearing a seatbelt. They will also be watching closely for child restraint violations. The Marion Municipal Court reports that the fine for drivers who fail to wear a seat belt is $99 and $89 for passengers.
