Saturday afternoon, May 20, 2017, Marion City Police were dispatched to Quarry Park on a report of a drowning. Once there, they discovered three teenagers had been cliff jumping and swimming in the water. One, a Columbus 15-year-old, may have jumped from the cliff, yelled for help and disappeared the surface. At 5:45pm, about 3 hours after the incident, Marion County Sheriff divers recovered the body of Shavon Reid. The investigation continues.
