A Major Crackdown on Scrap Yards

A major crackdown on Scrap yards in the Columbus area resulted in six companies being exposed for corrupt activity.  According to WCMH-TV many of them were buying illegal or stolen property.  G-Cor Automotive, New World Recycling, Masser Metals, Sims Brothers Recycling, PSC Metals and A-Z Recycling are all guilty of breaking the law.  Investigators showed that these businesses committed a number of violations including buying from people on the “do not buy from convicted thieves” list, and not keeping proper documentation. The businesses bought scrap belonging to someone else, including items from AT&T, Coke, 7UP, railroad company materials and American Electric Power.
