Marion – Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on October 15, 2022. At 2122 hours Troopers from the Marion Highway Patrol Post responded to 201 S. Main Street in the Village of Prospect.
The crash involved a 2021 Polaris All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) driven by William A. Simmers, 48, of Prospect, Ohio. The preliminary investigation indicates Mr. Simmers was traveling North on S. Main Street, travelled off the East side of the road and struck a tree.
Battle Run EMS and the Marion County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene where Mr. Simmers was pronounced deceased.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Battle Run EMS, the Marion County Coroner’s Office, Ron’s Towing and Mid State Mortuary.
This crash is still under investigation.
