On October 26, 2020 at 5:19 PM The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a telephone call in regards to a vehicle crashing into a tree on SR 598 South of Brandt Road South of the Dairy Queen.
Deputies were dispatched along with the Galion Police Department and Galion Fire Department. Upon Deputies arrival they discovered a blue in color 2000 GMC Sonoma had struck a tree which was driven by sixty one year old Brenda K. Stover from Marion, Ohio.
No other passengers were in the pick up truck and Brenda was taken by the Fire Department to the Galion Community Hospital where she passed away from her injuries.
The other vehicle involved was a teal green 2001 Plymouth Voyager which was driven by sixty three year old Audrey J. Mattox with a twenty seven year old female passenger.
Audrey and the passenger were not injured and the minivan that they were traveling in is a non contact vehicle that was involved in the crash which remains under investigation.
The Galion Police Department assisted on scene and the GMC was towed by Zeger’s Towing.
