MARMET, Marion & Wyandot Officers Take Criminals and Drugs Off Our Streets

On Monday, April 1, 2020, the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit investigated a complaint involving a early morning hours home invasion/burglary. The residence was located in rural Sycamore, Wyandot Co., Ohio. Detectives discovered a sum of cash money and two Still chainsaws were stolen from the residence while the property owners were asleep at the residence. Residents were not aware of the intrusion and there were no altercations between the homeowners and the perpetrators.

Detectives processed the scene, and developed Terry E. Worthington, age 41, of Marion, Ohio as a suspect. Detectives applied for and were granted a residential search warrant for 540 Grant Street, Marion, Ohio, this being the residence of Terry E. Worthington. Detectives with assistance of the MARMET Drug Task Force executed the residential search warrant on April 6, 2020. Detectives collected evidence connected with the home invasion/burglary in Wyandot County, as well as a large amount of suspected Fentanyl. Terry E. Worthington is currently being held in the Multi-County Jail for possession of drugs with additional charges pending through Wyandot County.

Detectives also learned the second suspect involved in the home invasion/burglary was Shane A. Damron, age 41 of Marion, Ohio. On April 7, 2020, detectives received a warrant on complaint for the arrest of Shane A. Damron through the Upper Sandusky Municipal Court for burglary. On April 9, 2020, Shane A. Damron was placed under arrest by the Marion Police Department for the warrant issued out of Wyandot County. Shane A. Damron was transported to the Wyandot County Jail where he was held without bond until his initial appearance in court. Shane A. Damron is currently being held at the Wyandot County Jail on a $75,000 cash/surety bond.

This investigation is an example of multiple agencies working together diligently to ensure the safety of the public and the residents of Wyandot County. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit was assisted by the Wyandot County Prosecutor’s Office, Carey Police Department, Marion Police Department, the MARMET Drug Task Force and the METRICH Drug Task Force.
