Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Michael D. Smith has been selected as the 2019 Bucyrus Post Trooper of the Year.
Trooper Smith joined the Highway Patrol in 2011 and has served at the Bucyrus and Marion Highway Patrol Posts. Trooper Smith is a lifelong resident of Upper Sandusky, and a graduate of Upper Sandusky High School. Prior to becoming a state trooper he also served in the United States Army.
Trooper Smith, his wife Erin and their three children reside in Upper Sandusky.
