Marion Mayor Scott Schertzer would like to create a new position with the city of Marion. Mayor Schertzer proposed creating the position of administrator of the office of management and budget at this week’s city council meeting. He also proposed merging the safety and service director positions, which are appointed by the mayor, to be able to pay for the budget administrator. The new position would answer to the mayor and be paid a salary close to 58 thousand dollars the first year.
