A one vehicle crash took the life of a 78 year-old Mount Gilead man. The crash accorded around 1:22 pm Friday afternoon. Willard Barrick was driving a 2011 Buick LaCross eastbound on Ohio 95 and went off the right side of the road, his car traveled more than 2600 feet before hitting a pole. The car then vaulted over Ohio 98 and came to rest in another field. Barrick was taken to Marion General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It is believed that the crash could be medically related. More information will be available after an autopsy and toxicology reports.
