The widow of Brian Puskas,a Sunbury man, who was shot and killed by Delaware County deputies last year is suing the Delaware County Sheriff's Office. Deanna Puskas is suing the Sheriff's Office alleging the office violated its own protocols and killed the man without warrant. The lawsuit is stating that Mr. Puskas ran from K-9, Cash around a tree, reached into a soft gun case to retrieve a handgun and was shot by Deputy Zachary Swick. Three deputies were placed on administrative leave during the investigation. The lawsuit lists 3 deputies and Delaware County as defendants. Deputy Swick no longer works for the Sheriff's Department. The lawsuit also states that their family dog was shot by the officer, despite showing no aggression. The dog was treated by a Vet and has since recovered.
