Rodger E. Virden, 74 of Marion passed away on Saturday June 16, 2018 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Marion. Rodger was born July 12, 1943 in Richland County and was raised by his adoptive parents Don and Eva (Phelps) Virden in the LaRue area.
Rodger is survived by three children, Vicki (Tim) Noggle of Marion; Charles Virden of Phoenix, Arizona; and Kenneth Virden of Marion; 3 grandchildren Polly Basinger, Amber (Chris) Spicer, and Shasta (Travis Wickline) Breece all of Marion; 6 great grandchildren; and sister Norma Green of Indiana.
After growing up in the LaRue area, Rodger lived for several years in the Winston Salem, NC area. He returned to Marion alittle over 10 years ago. Rodger graduated from Elgin High School and was a Truck Driver and self employed contractor. He enjoyed boating, watching T.V., pizza, and his pet dogs.
