Yesterday, at 4:17pm Marion Firefighters responded to a working structure fire at 328 Pearl Street. First arriving crews found a fire in the rear apt of the multi unit structure. A male was found in the back apartment and removed from the building where CPR was initiated. The male was transported to Marion General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. 15 Marion firefighters responded to scene and Marion Twp Fire brought 2 additional firefighters. Red Cross provided assistance to the family; Marion Fire Dept investigators and State Fire Marshall’s office are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
