Governor Mike DeWine says the state is just a few months away from seeing most of his COVID-19 health orders expiring. DeWine toured four vaccination sites over the weekend offering encouragement to volunteers and workers. Officials at the vaccine site at the Union County Fairgrounds reported they were averaging 40 vaccinations every 15-minutes. DeWine said the target number to begin rescinding orders is fewer than 417 new cases a day over a two-week period.

The Ohio Department of Health said nearly 20 percent of Ohio's population has started the vaccination process. Officials said yesterday that over 50-thousand people received a vaccine in a 24-hour period over the weekend. The new surge in numbers is in part due to last week's vaccine eligibility expansion to persons aged 50 and older. Governor Mike DeWine says the state is just a few months away from seeing most of his COVID-19 health orders expiring.
