MARMET Arrests Three In Two Different Search Warrants

On May 7, 2020, members of the MARMET Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Marion City Police Department, and Adult Parole Authority executed a search warrant in the 460 block of North Prospect Street. During the search Detectives located 168 Ecstasy pills and a loaded firearm.

Arrested was Ernest Pope age 35 of Marion, Ohio. Pope was taken to the Multi County Jail on a parole violation while he awaits official charges from Marion County Prosecutor Ray Grogan’s Office.

“Certainly, getting this dangerous suspect off the street may have prevented a future violent crime” states, Chief Bill Collins.

On May 8, 2020, members of the MAMRET Drug Task Force with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Counter Assault Team executed a search warrant at America’s Best Value Inn located at 1952 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd in Marion.

Arrested at the scene was Terell Steen age 42 and Chelsea Pierce age 28 both of Marion, Ohio. Steen and Pierce were in possession of 71 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Both were taken to the Multi County Jail and held on Trafficking in Crack Cocaine. Charges are pending with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

MARMET is a member of the METRICH Drug Task Force and it made up of members from the Marion City Police, Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
