Marion County Officials Hope To Open New Minimum Security Facility

Because of the jail overcrowding problem in Marion county, Marion county officials are hoping to establish a minimum security facility. Negotiations with the Marion County Commissioners for the lease of a facility at 269 Rose Avenue in Marion. That would house the Rose Avenue Community Alliterative Center. The facility will house inmates serving sentences for misdemeanor crimes. On December 5th the Marion County Commissioners unanimously approved a resolution making Dale Osborn part-time director of the facility.
