Bond Set at 750K For Subject In Mark Street Shooting

The subject in a shooting that happened late last month on East Mark Street in Marion has plead guilty. Thirty-three year-old Johnny D. Thomas of Marion was arraigned on Monday July 8th. His bond was set at $750,000. It is believed that Thomas was one of two shooters in the June 27th firefight that happened near East Mark and Ivanhoe streets, which left Thomas with a gunshot wound to the leg. He also plead guilty to one count of improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation, a and one count of having weapons while under disability.

Marion County Judge Warren Edwards listed off Thomas' criminal history, including his prior cases where Thomas had his bond revoked or his probation revoked, before setting the bond higher than the prosecution asked.
