Carey Schools To Install Solar Farm

The Carey School District is installing a solar panel field. Carey Schools is teaming up with Eitri Foundry and Vaughn Industries to put in about 3,100 solar panels. The panels will generate around 1.4 megawatts of electricity.The school will pay 7.5 cents per kilowatt hour on a 30-year agreement and will save about $16,500 annually. The solar farm will be incorporated into the school’s science curriculum. The facility will be owned by the Orlando Company and Vaughn Industries will do the installation
