The students that were involved in the tree cuttings at River Valley High School will face charges.  

On Monday afternoon the Marion County Prosecutor's Office charged six students that were involved in the senior prank.

Charged with one count of felony vandalism were Brian Tyler Simmons, David Mark Gifford, Gage Thomas Stuckman.  The students charged with Complicity to Vandalism:were Nicholas Layne Dale Warwick, Joseph Allen Conley, Mitchell Lee Hoffman.

School officials are discussing what kind of punishment will come from the school.  

The student handbook states that for a first offense the punishment is up to a 10 day suspension with a possible recommendation for expulsion.

The students charged cut down more than twenty trees.
