Marion County Sheriff will be participating in a countywide traffic detail targeting speed and alcohol related violations today on St. Patrick’s Day.

Deputies will be conducting extra traffic enforcement and patrol today. The Sheriff’s office has received a grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the Governor's Highway Safety Office for overtime traffic enforcement.

These monies enable officers to work extra overtime hours during various dates throughout the year to curb impaired driving, speed, and seatbelt violations.

Deputies will be patrolling all local state routes, county and township roads, and village streets for these violations and will have a zero tolerance on St. Patrick’s Day, and other high traffic holidays throughout the year.
